THE BEAUTY, HEALTH AND DURABILITY OF YOUR RAW HAIR EXTENSIONS IS STRONGLY DEPENDENT ON A PROPER HAIR CARE REGIMEN. RAW HAIR REQUIRES MORE MAINTENANCE THAN PROCESSED HAIR SO EACH STRAND NEEDS TENDER CARE AND CONDITIONING IN ORDER TO STAY HYDRATED AND MAINTAIN ITS HEALTH. BELOW ARE SOME TIPS AND GUIDELINES ON HOW TO BEST MAINTAIN YOUR RAW HAIR EXTENSIONS:
WASH YOUR HAIR BEFORE INSTALLING
-
We advise that you deep condition the hair regularly, give or take every 2 weeks
The reason you must deep condition is that- because the hair has been cut off from its donor, it will be lacking the nutrients it would normally get, therefore these nutrients have to be manually introduced back into the hair to give it luster and increase its longevity.
We recommend you use a hair mask to deep condition.
- Before washing, be sure to brush the hair out completely regardless of the texture, this will ensure that the hair is easier to manage while wet.
- Use Sulfate Free and Paraben Free Shampoo and Conditioner.
- When detangling while wet, always detangle only with the conditioner in, and start from the tip working your way up to the root.
- A wide tooth comb or wet brush should be utilized during this process.
- We strongly recommend the wet brush particularly for very wavy and curly textures.
- Very thick cream conditioners tend to work best with Vietnamese Hair.
- After washing the hair, pat dry to remove excess water and brush through the hair with no product in.
- Apply a small amount of leave in conditioner to infuse moisture. (Cream leave in conditioners tend to work best with our Cambodian hair extensions. You can also opt to use no product as well).
- Air dry naturally or a hooded dryer can be used.
- Blow drying is not recommended because it could potentially cause strand breakage from overheating.
- Apply a small amount of hair oil to the hair daily. A very small amount at that as product build up causes the extensions to become stiff and lifeless.
- If you have curly/very wavy textures, a generous amount of leave in conditioner can be added daily to tame any frizz and define your curls/waves. Again, cream conditioners tend to work best for Cambodian Hair.
- Use a heat protectant when applying heat to the hair via flat or curling irons to minimize breakage. Argan oil or the oil of your choice can be used for heat protectant purposes as well.
- A wide tooth comb or soft tip paddle brush is ideal for combing/brushing through your hair when necessary.
- Use a silk bonnet at night to lock in the hair's moisture and to prevent breakage as well.
- If you wish to color your Raw Hair extensions please consult a professional colorist to ensure that the right result is obtained and to prevent over processing.
- Please have a hair professional bleach your knots
- Avoid brushing through the hair very often because it may loosen the knots and contribute to increased shedding as well.
- Please follow the wefted hair care tips in the above section for the overall health and longevity of your lace product.
MAINTAINING YOUR WIGS & BUNDLES
-
use your fingers if possible, a wig brush, or large tooth comb to comb the hair.
- in case of our Burmese Curly hair: Finger comb hair from the ends to the top. Avoid using a comb or brush to maximize the life of the curls.
- Or our Standout Straight Bundles : Comb with a large tooth comb or wig brush from bottom to top.
-
Now run them under lukewarm to cooler water to wet them. Then apply the products and be sure to rinse out thoroughly after shampooing. As hair can get very stiff when not rinsed out properly
- This option is optional but will increase longevity: Let the hair airdry.
When styling,
- Our Burmese Curly hair use a thick leave in, curling cream or curling cream for curls.
- Our Standout Straight Bundles use a light sleek serum or shine spray. Do not over use these products and first apply to your hands and than go through the hair with it for a flawless finish.
Wig installation
If you are not expierenced with wig or bundle installation please seek help from a professional in your area and visit a good salon! Please do your research on this cause this can make or break your unit installation. Trying to install your wig on your own without expierence is at your own risk.
Our units are mainly made with HD Lace and Transparent swiss lace which is a very thin lace. It is also called ''Hollywood lace'' with the famous line '' What Lace?" Which refers to it being undetactable.
This type of lace will give you the most natural looking wig. On another note, this lace needs to be handled with the upmost care as it can ripp more easliy than other type of lace.
Do not overpull your unit, or ripp your wig of after glueing it down and be carefull when cutting the lace!
